On a weekend outing with my daughter, we discovered the table on which the first Mickey Mouse movie, Steamboat Willie, was shot, all the way back in 1928. It was also one of the first cartoons with synchronized sounds, and the movie in which Mickey replaced a prior Disney character, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. In front of that table, I wondered for how many authors the stories of this little, charismatic mouse were the first contact with storytelling in their early childhood.
